Don't Let's Forget

 I know.

We have to stop the war with Iran.

We need to see all the Epstein Files.

We need to see gas prices go down instead of up.

ICE needs to be abolished.

There is a cabinet that needs to be cleaned out and a "president" to impeach.

But couldn't we take a few minutes to look over common sense gun regulations?

Over this past weekend, there was a shooting inside a Spirit Halloween store in Fairfield, California. A pregnant woman was killed and six others were injured. One person was killed and eight wounded in Birmingham, Alabama after a college football game. These would definitely come down on the "trick" side of the ledger.

As of November 1, there have been three hundred ninety mass shootings in the United States. Simple math lets us know that we will easily pass the mark of one of these events per day for 2026. The motives and locations vary, but they all have that certain something in common: unfettered access to killing machines.

I know, if these desperate humans didn't have a gun, they would probably use a car or a knife or some other lethal means. A car requires a license in all fifty states. A knife is deadly, but considerably less effective in a crowd. We might all take heart in the fact that mass shootings are back down to "pre-COVID levels." The irony there being the way the Second Trumpreich likes to spin the tale, city streets are shooting galleries with murder and chaos on the rise. Not according to the numbers.

So, we take solace in the statistics that let us know that school shootings have decreased, and violence has returned to a more manageable level of more than one mass shooting a day. Gun violence remains the number one killer of children here in America.

I know there will be plenty of heavy lifting in the weeks and months to come, but I don't want us to lose our place in line. Not when people are dying by the hundreds daily. Those are numbers that come to us from the Center For Disease Control. You remember the CDC? The agency that had its budget cut by (checks notes) the MAGAts, eliminating entire divisions of this agency.

Let's make gasoline affordable and start charging more for bullets.
