Mothers are the ones
who care for us
they bend and stretch
make room for us
They bring us into the world
and turn out the light
when it's time for bed
time for sleep
Those nine long months
end in labor
but it's only
just beginning.
I'm pretty sure
if they put mothers in charge
there would be no wars
and a whole lot of people
would be sent to their rooms
to think about it
